This is an elegant, tall, iridescent green glass vase in an art nouveau style. It stands over 32 centimeters high (12+ inches), has a compressed footed body, and an elongated tapering neck. The top rim has an unusual shape, flaring out and then in, and the very top is polished where it was cut (not shown). On the outside the piece is rounded, but internally it is faceted, as shown in the third picture. The bottom shows some scratches of wear over time, but there is no discernible pontil mark.

Any idea of possible maker and/or period?

Just saw a somewhat similar vase listed on ebay, as "Art Nouveau glass vase to 1900 Loetz. Iridescent." See: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Art-Nouveau-Glass-Vase-um-1900-Loetz-Vase/282936185958?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D29eb603acdea4983b3f08d01e29d77d9%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D282936185958%26itm%3D282936185958%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Ad1d17b0d-f4e7-11e9-a645-74dbd180136e%7Cparentrq%3Af444c4ce16d0a9e4c8293651fffd5a94%7Ciid%3A1

Another vase with similar footed base and elongated neck. Top is different, though, as is finish, ground, and casing: https://scottishantiques.com/loetz-papillon

You really should avoid selling sites as a research source to identify glass. Although both of those ebay pieces are being offered as Loetz, neither of them are Loetz.

welzebub, thanks, just trying to find similar examples (not assuming the attributions are correct) and did not locate any similar pieces on the research site: https://www.loetz.com/ ...which of course suggests "not Loetz". Hoping one of the many incredible glass experts on Collectors Weekly might have some insight on the above piece.

plain green iridescent pieces are among the hardest to identify unless the shape is known to come from a specific glass house.

welzebub, thanks again, that makes total sense. We bought it because we liked it, but of course want to learn more if we can.

My pleasure. I am glad to help when I can.
