I don't know what this is called, but it is very heavy and feels really cool in the hands. It's also huge - over 10 ft long and 4-5 ft wide. it's stretchy too. Last year, the Goodwill near me converted to a bin-style sales floor and right after the transition, they were emptying out some really old and interesting containers of fabrics, textiles and clothes. There were around 150-200 people in there all the time and it was crazy. I'd go in every afternoon for as long as i could take it [about 20 min] and leave with a big bag of textiles to carry 10 blocks home to my house. I just packed them all into my old suitcases and forgot about most of them. Tonight, i went through them and took photos of just a few of them. There are SO MANY and some very interesting ones too.
Since its not wide enough to cover my (queen sz.) bed as a 'comforter' of sorts, I think that'd (or part of it anyway) havta end up as a 'throw cover' over a sofa or something, esp if there might be enough left over to have somebody make me a really cool shirt....?! ;-) :-) :-)
there's plenty to cover a bed if you doubled it. i'm thinking a really great halloween costume!
I found the name of this!!! It's called duramesh!
