I love it when I walk into a charity shop (this one was a furniture one that just had a few bits and pieces scattered about), and I find a piece like this for 50p. It had the look of Victorian glass, and when I got home, I found the rd number 58275, which I looked up and it dates to 1886. The glass has a pretty purple pink tinge to it. The firm of Edward Moore and Co was established at the Tyne Flint Glass Works, South Shields, in 1860. They were known for good quality glass and kept producing glass till 1913.
Gorgeous pattern & pale lavender shade
I've just found one of these although mine was expensive at £2. The colour is probably due to "sun purpling" from prolonged exposure to sunlight of the manganese oxide in the glass, mine has a faint mauve tinge.
