      I am not sure why you think this is Italian? They had much better craftsmanship than is shown here. This is a corner chair, not terribly old and certainly not a top quality item. Furniture is made in all different levels of quality and this is pretty plain and simple in terms of most corner chairs. Poorman's butler chairs were also similar to this item.
