I just picked up this lovely heavy oak taboret; the finish is in good condition except for the top which has a lot of wear, and where I also repaired a split, so I am going to refinish the top surface only. Anyway, it is marked on the bottom 'CLARENCE . WEB&TER' with a 'W' below it. (I am not sure why they didn't use an 'S' and used '&' instead!) The only Clarence Webster I can find was a famous gynecologist and arts & crafts era print collector - does anyone know if there was a furniture company of this name, c.1910 or so? (It came from Albuquerque, New Mexico, if that helps at all.) Thanks!
On my computer it isn't a $ it is an ampersand &
