Hi guys... I've had this for many years... and am strangely fond of it. However I've endlessly searched for even a picture of one with the (missing) shade intact.
Any ideas of what the shade looked like.... Or ideally.... where I can get one?
Your time and thoughts will be very much appreciated.
Try searching for "Royal Haeger" instead and I'll bet you'll get somewhere quick... :-)
Omg... Thank you... I think I realized that in past searches... Updating title (if I can) and re-searching accordingly.
Did these lamps even have shades?
My grandmother had a similar one when I was young and it just had the bulb.....unless her’s was missing it’s shade also.
Sleek and beautiful panther sculpture, what a rare and wonderful lamp! Great post, thank you for sharing this I love it
This one clearly had a shade structure... See above shot... Also lighting a bit odd without.

I swear I searched exhaustively in the past (including with proper spelling) and couldn't find it!!!
I found it immediately. There was no shade over the bulb. If you look at the base forward of the bulb on both ends you will see a hole. A screen plugged down into those holes and allowed dim light to pass through. It was called a TV light.
Here is an example you can see front and rear
