This painting was in my grandparents house. My mom told me it was a gift to my grandparents from a grand uncle who had gotten it from France after WWII. My mom said the artist was popular there at that time. Maybe she was misinformed on its origins? The painting is signed what looks like "P. Wlliams". There was a landscape artist named Paul Williams from the Detroit area. Maybe he spent time in France sometime between the 1940s and 1960s. Maybe this isn't even his work. Anybody have any clues?
