This is a nice 1927 "Hand Colored" postcard of the Interior of the Dutch Inn in Lexington Va.
    It sure looks cozy.
I didn't realize it when I posted this card that it is written by a relative of Reverend George Junkin D.D., LL.D (November 1, 1790 – May 20, 1868) was an American educator and Presbyterian minister who served as the first and third president of Lafayette College and later as president of Miami University and Washington College (now Washington and Lee University).
It looks like it was written by George who was is son or grandson? I have several cards from and to these same Junkin family members.

I’m looking at that room and just thinking how I would manage living when all those furnishings were new.
I could start a fire using the bellows, maybe! No idea if there’s a damper though or how to open it so I shouldn’t bother with the heat.
I wouldn’t know how to wind the clock properly.
I would have no idea of spinning - so no yarn for knitting clothing. But then I don’t knit.
I would be useless to that household!
I certainly admire our forefathers/mothers for all their knowledge and skills.

I'm sure that it would blow their minds to walk into our living space as well.
To just sit and watch my 3 year old playing with the internet on our iPhone even confuses me.
