Out picking today and came across this stunning hand painted porcelain portrait of a beautiful young lady with emerald green eyes. The porcelain is approximately 8 x 10 and a 1/4 inch thick. The late Charlotte Burkart entered many painting contests at the Indiana State Fair in the 1970's, her son said she always took first place. I don't know who the lady is in the portrait, but she looks stunning hanging in my dining room!
Wow! She looks so real!
Beautiful! My in-laws were friends with a John Burkart (College Life) and his wife but I can't remember her name. I was wondering if this Charlotte Burkart was any
relation. Do you know? Thanks.....
Thanks officialfuel, mooreantique, and marcobabe13. I'm not sure if they are related, but I will ask the son (Harry) what his father's name was, and get back with you. Thanks
Thanks trukn20!
Thanks scandinavian_pieces.
Stunning, great find!!!
Thanks leighannrn and thriftan!
Who couldn't love a face like that !!
Thanks Hedgewalker, she is a beauty!
A lovely porcelain plaque and know you will enjoy it.
In my opinion, it looks like Ms. Burkart's contemporary interpretation of the antique porcelain plaques of Odalisque after Angelo Asti.

I'm sure she had read many books about portraits on porcelain and Odalisque is in every one of them.
Such a "BEAUTIFUL" painting
