This arrived a couple of days ago. It's a well known shape but has a surface of hobnails, which is new to me. Coincidentally welzebub has just posted another Welz basket in this décor, also with a new surface.
This one has four circles of hobnails in all with a larger hobnail in the centre of each. Between these circles are yet more hobnails. The pontil has been ground but not polished. Finally it is marked to the base unusual in the UK.
Height 18cm./7 inches
I posted a set of baskets about a year ago, and one of them in this rim crimp has the same surface texture on it.
