Hello, Collectors Weekly community! I found this beautiful thing at a thrift store some time ago. I have no idea what it is. Does anyone have a clue? It's stamped CZECHO SLOVAKIA. Extremely ornate metalwork with a variety of inset faceted and cabochon stones. I believe them to be stones, but they may be glass. And I believe it to be from around 1919 or so, based on the way CZECHO SLOVAKIA is written. I was thinking that it may be a ring holder. It's too short to be a cup holder, unless the cups were tiny demitasse or tea cups. It stands 5.625" high; the base and top are both 2.75" wide. It weighs 5 ounces. I have searched and searched online and can't find one single thing that even comes close to this. Your thoughts, please? Thank you!
Thank you! After following your lead and researching Neiger Brothers, it certainly does appear to be Neiger Brothers! I believe it to be a jewelry stand.
Valentino97, based on information from another CW member, I looked at every site I could find that referenced Neiger Brothers. Based off of what I found, the age, workmanship and design of this object, fit the Neiger Brothers design profile. I have never seen anything like it before, but it fits their style and typical elements used, and I believe it is jewelry-related. When you look at other antique or vintage jewelry stands, this object fits the basic visual form, even though I didn't find even the first Czech or Bohemian jewelry stand. In your opinion, what do you think this is?
