Sterling Handle carving/meat fork. I'm interested in the maker. I had trouble with a good pic of the hallmark. It appears to be a skinny right facing and rearing lion in a badge. I find it curious that the fork portion is marked "never use". Any ideas or is hallmark too worn?

If it was actually a lion it would be Lion Passant. It dosen't look right from what I can see of it.

I tried enlarging the photo's but they are both blurry and upside down. It isn't this web site, you need to dump them to a computer, orient them properly and don't for get to save them at the end. Then they will post right side up. From what I see you have a series of marks. I would think British or if it is actually the Lion Paassant possibly Swiss.
