    I somehow acquired these cute little cast iron kitchen items that now became a small collection.
    I believe that they were all produced to deceive collectors and generate money in the antique market. Everywhere you look on the internet these type of things are listed as salesman samples/ toys.
    I seriously doubt that any of those listed for sale were ever genuine salesman samples.

      That's funny... I had, or may still have a set around here somewhere. Mine didn't have any white writing on it and don't remember if it was just so old that there was no trace of it. Which leads me to believe mine may have actually been a true salesman sample. What's so funny to me is that I have no idea where mine came from either!!
