A large Ansonia mantle clock. The case is black Belgian slate in the classical palladian style with top pediment topped with a bell. There are brass classical columns on each side of the clock face and brass warrior figures of the period between the columns. The clock face is white enamel with black enamel Roman numerals. There is also an open-face visible escapement. Over the clock face is a glass front door in brass fretwork that hinges open from right to left. There is a circular door at the back
The brass key (pictured) has two circles on either side.
This clock was a wedding gift to my husband's great aunt and uncle in 1912.
We are keen to find out approximately when it would have been made and the name of its design.
We would also be interested in any information about the brass figures.
I'm in love with the clock, what a great wedding gift.
Yes, it is beautiful. We are happy that it has come our way.
