A Rainbow Crackle Gilded Rose Bowl . Ground pontil.
So many colours in the rainbow pattern :so unusual.
Found in an op shop at the back of a shelf in the dark.
Have shown it to a few FB groups but it still remains a mystery.
The edges of the crackled surface are quite sharp to the touch.
It had been used as a pen holder by a former owner.
The gold foil over the crackled surface has been stretched by the process.
The suspects are Stevens & Williams and Harrach too.
The names of d’Humy and Vasa Murrhina Glass Co., came up too but are discounted.
Glass is a learning curve.
Perhaps someone else here might suggest another ???

Gorgeous pastel rainbow glass, great find
All I can say is that it is MAGICAL & that I absolutely adore it! Wish I'd found it in whatever lucky op shop that you did... :-)
Okay, as someone with a fair bit of rainbow glass in my collection, I'm going to hazard an English attribution on this, based on a few factors (although the gold foil crackle throws me somewhat - most unusual).
The variation in the size of the coloured stripes, with the blue being the thinnest one. I have some items with this same aspect, despite other differences in decor. Most notably a pair of rainbow swirl vases (clear not cased) purchased from the UK & attributed to S & W.

Also, a salt with the same thin blue stripe, overlaid with white trailed decoration.

May I also add, that if you are ever able to part with it, that I could provide it with a loving new home...
Many thanks FORTAPACHE, KWQD, NEWFLD, LARKSEL, ARTFOOT, SUMMERBLUES & IRONLACE !!!
Thanks especially to IRONLACE & NEWFLD for their kind comments. It was a Salvo’s on the north shore earlier in the year I think. The same colours I’ve seen on pieces that are said to be English. It’s not my area. I appreciate your opinion immensely.
And thanks for sharing this little gem, it has made my day. Always a pleasure to see a fine piece of glass like this...
An interesting find for sure!!

RENEDIJKSTRA, I am happy with either S&W or Harrach. It’s the craquelure which is intriguing. I just love it. I’m developing a taste for rainbow glass too.
