Hello I have this antique pot, had this for many years sitting in a box but am now thinking it’s time to get rid of all this stuff, I always thought this was Japanese with no marks, but just noticed a 25 on the bottom. Wondering if anyone can help me with why or what it could mean
This is big and very heavy
My opinion, is that an antique imari porcelain piece might have been produced in Japan or China, and the quality of the painting would have been better.
With the number 24, this looks like a 20th century interpretation, perhaps in Europe.
Thanks for helping, I have been looking at a lot of Imari images since posting this but cannot find another this shape. Painting could be better but seen much worse and a lot of the old stuff has a similar kind of look
I would always sell at the right price but these just sit in boxes,
