    Hacksaw

Had my aunt and uncle give me a bag full of dolls just like this one without any description as to where they came from or how old they are. Just trying to find some information on this doll, anything helps.

    Thank you

She looks like she may have been re-painted at some point. As for the doll you gave no description either. Is that a metal head? Check the back for a mark. it may have been a Minerva. I see china feet, but a picture without clothes tells a good story. Metal head dolls were sold as kits in catalogs, you could buy them whole, or buy parts to put together yourself.

It says Germany on the back and I think the head is ceramic like, possibly tin, hard to tell. Any way to date these?

It's hard to day exactly, as I do think she has been painted, but here is some information on metal head dolls from Germany.

If you google Minerva you may find one like yours. As the pieces were sold separately many times the body was homemade, but not always. Usually with the Minerva dolls the arms and legs were made of china.
