Armed with some money my Mum gave me in August for my birthday I saw this carafe in a friend’s shop at a local antique centre.
ERIK HÖGLUND.
Carafe, glass, signed H 981/270.
H: 27,5 cm/ 11 7/8''
Boda, Sweden, 1950’s.
Erik Höglund (1932-1998) was a painter, sculptor, cartoonist, graphic artist and glass artist. Erik trained at the Konstfack at age 16 to become a teacher but moved into sculpture and design. He worked for Boda Glassworks as a designer in the years 1953-73. There he created many unique woks and also many commercial designs in glass, ceramic and bronze. Höglund began working at Boda glassworks in 1953 under the direction of Fritz Kallenberg but he broke away from the traditional idea of clear glass experimenting with colored glass with a bubbly look and irregular finishes.
He also worked for Pukeberg, Transjo, Åhus, Vrigstad and Studioglas Strömbergshyttan.

Beautiful!
Very nice.I magnified the 2nd picture to get a closer look at the circle .It has a interesting imprint that looks like a T in the shape of a face.Do you know if this a makers mark or does it have another meaning.
Many thanks SKLO, MACART, NEWFLD, JBINGHAM, PHIL, THOMAS, OFFICIALFUEL, WATCHSEARCHER, NAAFSSALG & IGGY too !!!!
As regards the face JBINGHAM, I think it is his take on the traditional masks that appear on Bellarmine bottles but I may well be wrong.
