Purchased this stylized sculpture of a chick (chickadee?) some time ago thinking at first that it was crafted of pewter. Given its extraordinary weight (2.5 lbs and only 3.5" max) decided it is of lead. I was unable to find any signature though based on the unfinished underside suspect it was originally mounted on a base. Difficult to assess age but based on the style I would suggest mid-century. Welcome any/all comments.
