Hi everybody! Haven’t been on for awhile...kid weddings, summer visitors, annual deck restaining that turned into an unexpected rebuild because the whole thing rotted out underneath, and flu.

I’m back to doing things that give me peace of mind. ????. Like trying to figure out if this is a Tommy Singer piece. It sure looks like one. It is marked with a T. I haven’t seen many of his pieces marked with a T. The kicker is it also carries the HMIJ Ortega Shop Mark. It is well worn and appears as though somebody loved rubbing the edge of this pendant/brooch. I’ve compared the inlay to my known Tommy Singer inlay piece and it sure looks the same. But again I’m no expert.

It measures about 2-1/8” in diameter and weighs 23 grams. To me it looks like a Bird Man. My husband said a Thunderbird. I told him Thunderbird’s have no feet. But I do love it and have never seen anything like it. At the same time, I’m not familiar with the Ortega Shop outside of reading he searched high and low for good pieces.

It’s my understanding Singer never did benchwork for Ortega. Would it be possible he did a few pieces for his shop though? I’m clueless.

The informative and valuable input from all of you is always appreciated. I learn so much from y’all!

    Thank you...Terry

valentino97 I saw your chip inlay pieces. They are beautiful! Thank you for the welcome back. After recovering from summer, now staring at 16” of snow on that darned deck!

Still thinking this piece looks like a bird man, so am sticking with that until someone tells me otherwise. I’ve looked at so many pieces on the Internet now, they all begin to blur ????
