This coolly elegant Victorian satin glass vase was an op shop find.
Made from three layers of cased glass - clear over light blue, with an opaline interior, it features a raised, moire type pattern of elongated diamonds. This type of pattern is more often seen as an air trap decor, so it's a bit unusual in that way. The raised pattern is not as pronounced as on similar "cut velvet" type satin glass.
The vase measures 24.5 cm tall, 5 cm across the top rim, & 7 cm across the base, which shows the diamond pattern becoming an overlapping star design.
Bohemian or English perhaps?
Sweet oppy find!
Many thanks, racer! Yes, I had some "vibes" that I'd have a find, & there it was!
