I knew this was Welz though the seller clearly didn't. Nor did s/he know it was peloton glass or Bohemian/Czech. Thus I was the sole bidder. This style of ribbed jug may have a round or a square neck as you can see in image four of another I have. However they come in at least two sizes with the peloton one being much, much bigger.

Wow, what a great score! Congratulations on winning a fine example of this rare decor - & it couldn't have gone to more deserving collector!

IronLace When I saw this jug I remembered your post of a Welz bowl in this décor, and the fact that you'd wished me well in finding a piece of my own. Also I found it by using a broad search I haven't used in months, perhaps years. Thus I think you and fate played a part in me owning this. Fanciful I know but a lot of glass collecting is down to the inexplicable!

Thank you, inky. This example is more of a russet brown than the true brown of IronLace's examples. However it isn't really as red as it appears in the images.

I've had a fair bit of good fortune using broad searches over the years, in fact I think one of my other brown Peloton items was found just looking for something like "art glass basket". I'm so happy to think I played a little part in helping you find this - & isn't fate a magical thing? A most important factor in the life of a collector...
