I picked up this very old hat badge recently and was wondering if any one recognized it? Unusual with the cabachon in the center. I assume this is military? Hand hammered, not cast. Nice reddish patina on the inside. Copper? looks like gold leaf was applied to the top surface. Any info would be appreciated.
