My Italian great grandma whom came to America on the boat left this to my great uncle, then my great uncle passed it on to my grandma (both of theyre handwriting is on the note that's taped to the back of the clock), then it was passed to me. It's ansonia inards(patented date says June, 14,81). Royal Bonn Germany 1755 stamp. La Orb indention on the lower back left, as well as an upside-down 23 indention below that. Trying to figure out how old this really is.
Hello,
Welcome to Collectors Weekly and thank you for sharing your family heirloom with us. Your Ansonia La Orb is from Circa 1904. It could have been manufactured several years before or after that general date. One like yours originally listed for around $17.00. Adjusted for inflation that would be about $492 in 2019.
Your clock is also fitted with an Open Escapement 8-day time and strike movement.
Royal Bonn is a well known German Porcelain Manufacturer and the company provided Ansonia with the finest Porcelain Cases.
Nice large model, Royal Bonn case, Open Escapement Movement, desirable colors and floral patterns, your clock checks most of the boxes for many Collectors of these types of Ansonia clocks.
I hope that solves your mystery. If so, please indicate "Mystery Solved" in your write up. If not, and you have more questions, ask away.
