Budai

I bought this 12 cm high Budai - not to be confused with Buddha - in the local thrift store for the equivalent of USD 3. Cast in some sort of light gray stone-like material. I'm not sure about what it is. It looked too dull for my taste, so I spray-painted it in gold. Now it looks like ' a million' - or at least a half. Budai was a popular, Chinese, wandering Buddhist monk in the 10th century. All what he owned he had with him in the carpet-bag to the right. You can google the legends about him.
