Got a third fly swatter so it looks like I now have a collection. I think when you have three of something it becomes a collection.
This is type they had before the plastic ones used today. It uses a material like the that of a window screen. Minimum wind resitance which not only makes it faster but gives the fly less warning. Flies can sense a air pressure coming down on them, it is a natural defense as lots of animals like to eat flies but sadly there are never enough to eat all the flies. Back to this exciting swatter of flies I see it has stitching as opposed to staples to attach the trim. That makes me think that it is early 1960's at the latest.
I have a fancier one I posted earlier and the fly shaped one. The fly shaped one may just be a decorator piece but it looks neat. I prefer a proper vintage fly swatter myself.
Agree fort, the regular squarish shapes work best, but that fly shaped one sure is cute
No Fly's on you fort!!! I've used the one with a hole in the middle of the swatter. Gives them a fighting chance!!! Just Kidding.
