I've had this quarter since 2007 .it's a 2007 Washington state quarter. It looks like it was stamped hard enough that the fish shows thru on the backside of the coin. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. It looks like Washington has an alien head...
There is no known error like this to date and no new errors have been verified since 2017. The only way to be sure is send it to be certified. Think carefully before spending a wad on a quarter that may well simply be after mint damage. Getting a coin certified isn't cheap and you will need to send them the coin to examine.
Making the decision is kind of a toss of the coin so to speak, send it and spend it or no.
