I have always maintained that PK designs, in terms of shape, are the closest Jugendstil/Art Nouveau glass got to contemporary art glass.
However, they could also produce extraordinary shapes in the AN style.
1. From the Kittenbaum catalogue on PK glass, two examples of shapes found in the pink flashed gold papillon with verdigris swirls always on the upper body of the piece.
2. A 15" vase next to a 9" vase.
3. But then, I found the 9" in a 13" size! The sizes, from left to right: 13:, 15", 10" and 12"--all shapes documented in other decors
4. A view of a pontil mark showing the gold spotting.
WOW! Wonderful display of PK, and documentation. Thanks Al.
