This is a fairly massive paperweight at 6.25" long x 4.5" wide x 2.25" high. It weighs in at 1 lb 10.5 ounces. My images don't show that the red border around the turtle is clear glass. The orange glass is opaque. The lines on the bottom raise the glass a bit in the middle so the turtle doesn't sit flat, but can spin around. Maybe done purposely to make it easier to pick up? The seller advertised it as made by Viking Art Glass, and it may be, but I cannot find it in Glass Animals by Dick and Pat Spencer, or any other reference by any maker that I have searched. The colors remind me of L.E. Smith. Can anyone identify the maker? It does also remind me of my Viking Glass frog paperweight in style and size...
Here the CW post which shows the Viking Glass frog in a pretty green color:

I heard from the seller of this turtle. She said that she belongs to several glass boards and posted it on one and received the identification. She is trying to locate the post.

This is not a Viking no. 7281 turtle unless it was modified and produced by Dalzell after Viking folded. I don't think they would have spent the money for the mould work required on a perfectly good turtle paperweight.
The Viking version has the feet well formed and independent of the press overflow and the back design delineations are rounded and more natural looking rather than square. Viking turtles have a rounded head, this shows something akin to a snapper head. Lastly, every Viking or Rainbow animal I have held in hand has had a smooth base. Many of the animals Viking produced were made from moulds acquired when the purchased rainbow in 1968.
Your seller may be a member of several FB id groups, but this was never shown in the Viking group. If you wanted Viking, I would ask for my money back. If you like the weight regardless as it is perfectly fine, then all would be good.
@DuDa - Thanks very much for the information! I didn't think it was Viking when I bought it, but it was very inexpensive and I wanted to take a closer look at it. It is very nice work and unique. I like it!
