This vase was 10" high x 7" at its widest. Two Kamei labels. The bottom showed wear and there were some spots of white paint on it, but otherwise very nice. The seller did not really know how to pack glass, which I suspected from his/her items, so I sent some suggestions for packing it, just in case. I have received items which were packed worse and survived the trip, but the packing job was still iffy. That being said, the box was not damaged and it took some effort to break it. Maybe a drop kick. The seller gave me a full refund, but that is bittersweet as this was a great vase.
I also received a Jan Beranek center piece today, which was supposedly mint, and has several scratches on it. Not a great day, so far!
Looks to have been a lovely vase, too! Personally I think the blame for breakages lies with the packer. A strong box with little protection inside is as much a recipe for disaster as a soft box. So sorry!
I agree, the seller was ultimately to blame, or I would not have accepted a refund from them. If it had been properly packed, USPS could have drop kicked it and it would have survived.
Thanks vetraio50 and sklo42!
Sorry about this beautiful vase Kevin, that's really an awful loss & glad you got the refund. It is great you can see humor in the situation, your post title threw me as I was expecting something cheery :(
@Newfld - Thanks Jenni! I don't do cheery!
Thanks for loving my vase that was Jenni and aura!
Thank you!

well can't click love this .. sad tho .. I been lucky ..I try not to buy on line ... hope you find another ...good hunting..
Thanks Findings. It is still sitting in the box on my kitchen floor. I haven't been able to bring my self to throw it into the dumpster, yet. I'm still in my mourning period....
Thanks, Karen! I'm considering contacting the glass program at my local university and seeing it maybe they can grind the bottom part that is left and turn it into a bowl. I have not take it out of the box except to get picture number 4, so not sure how much of the bottom half of the vase is left. I am assuming that the glass program will have a grinding wheel...
Great news! I did contact the local university and they are willing to try to grind this into a bowl for me! I will add an update when there are some results!
Well!!.. I wasn’t going to click the love but after reading your last comment I shall, pleased! you have managed to salvage something front this tragedy and look forward to seeing the bowl...:-)
