VERY RARE SHERMAN PINWHEEL BROOCH IN COLOURS of FUSCIA, CLEAR & OPAQUE JADE GREEN
It has been postulated or believed that the use of such pieces of Sherman jewellery in such striking colours were probably used to draw people inside a jewellery shop. Also I believe that sometimes a Sherman client would ask specifically for special colours in a piece or colours to order to match something.
This is a piece that you will probably only see once in your life or twice if you are particularly lucky. I was testing a new camera (used) I bought some years ago yesterday and thought I would start with this pin as it is so rare. Sherman did not make a lot of pins using that Jade Green so they are hard to come by. All pieces are signed Sherman and these are in perfect condition has a gilded or gold backing.
I got this listing from Mani some years ago as I had to have her bid from the U.S. since the seller was not taking bids from Canada as she was asking U.S. funds and forgot to include Canada in taking bids, people from Canada hence could not see the listing. I tried for some photos to show the 4 tier brooch from different angles, to get some depth. The pin or brooch made the author of the Sherman Masterpiece book quite envious as she had never seen this colour combo in that style before so I knew I had a rarity !~
Thanks again for Mani's support - without that there would never be the collection that I ended up enjoying so much !~
Also a late addendum to note is that this brooch will not fit in 98% of the Sherman boxes that you will find out there. It takes one that is higher than most and does not come up as often for sale. This 4 tier brooch has the height that gives it the drama !~ ....G
Stunning Sherman pieces, the color combination & design are beyond beautiful. Congrats on this wonderful rare find!

Wow! Thank you for sharing this! I have never seen any color combination like this but they just look sooooooo gorgeous together! Definitely stunning!
This is an amazing pinwheel brooch set. I came here to look at your Christmas Colours — fuschia, jade green opague and clear — brooch after reading your comment about the pinwheel possibility on my recent post. This pinwheel brooch of yours is so distinctive ... and appears quite large. That multi-stone centre is certainly something.
Thank you Nicefice for the comment !~
Happy New Year, Phil!

Mani, I send my love to you, you have been the best of friends in this trying year, Happy New Year and may all your wishes occur !~xoxo
Happy New Year, Daisy. This brooch I consider the largest and most substantial of Sherman's Broochs'. Some may have a bit more to the overall but this one does not use any small stones for the mass of it. Its quite rare to find these and the earrings even harder to find with a brooch. It is one of or the most fascinating of the pieces that Sherman made. There is a page of some of the colours that Sharon had in her book.
Happy New Year to you also Mrstyndall, the best to you !~
Thank you so much kyratango, love to you !xoxo
The alexandrite colour does not always show in a dramatic purple colour and often shows rather drab in pink and blue colours Eileen, the real dramatic ones I have are the other bracelets, particularly the larger navette stones one which is stunning in my showcase, that is where the drama lies - the purple colours occur much more in everyday light :

Wow, what a stunning brooch/earring set! That is indeed a magnificent find. Such a striking combination of hues.
Just as an aside, these colours - pink, green, and white - are the traditional colours of Hinamatsuri, the Japanese holiday variously translated as Girls' Day or the Doll Festival. On that day you see these colours repeated over and over again - white for snow and purity, pink for peach blossoms (the day was originally a peach festival), and green for health and spring.
Thanks rhineisfine, this brooch is different and larger than yours but still in the rarer pinwheel family !~
