The pair are about 20" tall.
Each is on a wooden stand.
There are no marks on the base of the vases.

I have seen similar shaped lidded vases in antique books; but they are only about 6" tall. The similar smaller vase is described as a Chinese Tea Caddy. The shape is almost identical to the smaller one I saw, and both are perfectly formed with no cracks. The material feels as though it is clay (not porcelain); the little information I have got through research suggests the clay helps to preserve the tea in good condition.

They also have scenes that show a fishing party, one person drinking (tea, I presume) and another person holding up a receptacle for a bird to drink from.

This has led me to believe that they are a matching pair of tea caddies made for a Tea Shop or a large house.

Maybe one of you can tell me if I am correct, what age they are, and any other information that would help me do further research.

Clay and the decor suggest Satsuma to me, but I'm no expert. These are beautiful. :)
