This doll has a bisque head and a cute little velvet sailor suit on. Probably from around WWI? what do you think?

Your doll is a Norah Wellings doll made in England :-) These sailors were often sold on cruise ships and name of ship on their hat . She was in business from about 1930 to 1960 appx . I would call him a souvenir doll . Very nice find !
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you

Dolls creep me out, anyway. And this little guy is super creepy. I appreciate the craftsmanship in dolls but, brrrr... I once almost made the mistake of purchasing a really cool, I thought, 1930s oil painting of a red headed woman in a green hat and dress, for a friend and her new wife as a wedding gift and just in time found out that she had a thing about "faces" staring at her. I could totally relate to that when I found out.

He was a huge selling doll and that is why you can find him so easily . Dolls don't creep out all people . I am not a fan of taxidermy so there is something in this world for us all . Norah doll did have a rather strong character face more like a cartoon . But she made a lot of money from him :-)
