Can anyone tell me anything about this little guy? He's been in the family for a long time and grandma is no longer with us to tell the story. Also, he's only about 3 inches tall. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Is it made of glass?
Seems to be made of ceramic/ porcelain but not sure exactly. Definitely seems easily breakable.
OK, what you have is called a whimsie. They come in different sizes up to about six inches tall although most are much smaller. The best known ones were made by Wade of England and are marked either on the very bottom or on the lower front. Ones that are marked and signed are the most collectable and not at all expensive to collect.
