Does anyone know what kind of photo this is? How old it may be? Also who it is??
I found this in an old trunk full of collectible magazines, old newpaper journals, ads etc. It measures 13.5 x 17". Good size. It looks like it has been penciled of some sort white in areas for the beard. But the white does not rub off. Strange to me as the picture looks like a photograph with the added white color. It is quite old. It is printed on a heavy thick cardstock, but it is brittle as you can see a few pieces of broken off. Any info would be quite helpful. Thanks in advance.

It's a Crayon Portrait which were popular from 1840 - 1915. A Crayon Portrait is a photographic image often done life size that was enhanced by an artist using charcoal or pastel. A Google search will tell you lots more about them. I have one posted and I know there are a few others on here.
