Just wanted to ad to all the information keramikos provided, my own experience with the resale market of American glass to American buyers.
I was surprised to find out that it is quite popular, of course the rarer pieces do better, but there is certainly a large loyal group of American glass collectors out there.
Yes keramikos, I snuck in while you were not looking.....ha ha.
Working hard to determine what's what. I agree with about the age thing, but there are still many collectors in their fifties, so with longevity today, that is a good 20 years for most of the vast population of American.
As a Canadian I envy the USA, the land of opportunity, in the sense that if you have energy, determination and a good idea, you can improve your life and your family's a lot faster. The ultimate rags to riches dream.
I was thinking the same thing keramikos, this happens, 1 post, 1 image, only to be never heard from again. Your info will still be looked at by other members so it's not a wasted effort, plus I think you like the challenge. :-)
What is the 'snip' about? You lost me there.
As far as American views, we are used to all sorts. Funny expressions like Canadian bacon, what's the difference with bacon?
Winter all year long with our woolen hats and mits....
Strong beer drinkers in any kind of weather outside.... ha ha.
The worst was Oprah Winfrey calling Canada 'Knada', that was a bit much for the well traveled bilionnaire.
have a good weekend K.
keramikos, are you having fun?
that's quite the effort you are making based on one image of glass pieces behind glass, you must like a challenge and a mystery and no reaction except for me bugging you. :-)
Seems like so far, not much Fenton after all.
Keramikos,
Your reply made me chuckle.
As Confucious said (maybe), 'may you live in interesting times', or something like that. My translation is, spend your days in satisfying occupations, and not only the usual routine.
This is different for everybody. As we get older, our world gets smaller, but our brains may take us many new places.
