This vase it 5.25" high x 3.75 in diameter at the widest point. The bottom is ground flat and polished. When I first saw it, my thought was that it might be Fukuoka, made in Japan. Then I started to search on Google and then on ebay and I found the vase in the image below:

I think this is the same vase, but thoughts on this welcomed. As this link will eventually disappear,I note that the vase in this auction includes the box and the vase has a red and gold foil label. The seller says it is 5" tall. The box contains the following information:
copyright 1983 Action Industries Inc.
Manufactured in the People's Republic of China
For Pour
The European Collection (TM)
A Division of Action Industries Inc.
Cheswick, PA
15025. U.S.A.

I see where you are coming from with the Fukuoka reference Kevin. Colour/slag mix were a favourite of them and other Japanese makers.
This is not a Japanese shape though, so t's great to see a maker listed by you!
@racer4four - Thanks for the information, Karen. I wonder if anyone actually collects Chinese glass from this period? This was at the beginning of the rise of competition from PRC glass products.
Thanks for loving my probably Chinese vase aura, Thomas, Nicefice,
Kevin, Jenni, Findings, Karen, fortapache and blunderbuss!
@ kwqd -
your link isn't live, so here's one that is. hope you don't mind me interfering?

Check out photo #2. Enlarge it, and there are mystery hands coming out from under the vase!
Thanks for your help Gillian! I appreciate it!
Thank you aura and Broochman!
