We found this set of Sheaffer fountain pen and propelling pencil, also another Sheaffer fountain pen that doesn't have any ink stain on the nib so I assume it hasn't been used. Like the Parker in my previous post, they belonged to my late father in law. Are they worth keeping?

THis is a Sheaffer PFM (pen for men) set, and a quite nice one. The parker pen in your previous post is a duofold/vacumatic, as it bears the duofold name but fills using the vacumatic system. The parker pen is a rather common pen, however this sheaffer set is actually difficult to find, are you interested in selling the pens?

      -Hope this helps some.

Also in terms of restoration...There are many people online who can restore them for a good price. Or if you live in Southern CA, there is pen shop in Monrovia that sells and restores new/vintage pens.

      Regards,

Thank you Gabriel. I appreciate the information you gave me. I don't think we will consider selling any at this point - more likely these pens will become the basis of a collection of my own. It is really interesting to begin to learn the history of pens from this website, and I think my grandchildren will be fascinated at the writing tools of the past. We live most of the year in New Zealand, so I will enjoy finding fountain pens and maybe inkwells there too!
I am uploading a couple of pictures of one more pen that was in my father in law's shed. This one has no markings at all but is quite a pretty pen.
We are in central California at the moment, but perhaps I will visit the place in Monrovia that you mentioned. I think I would like to learn how to restore the pens myself.
Once again, thanks so much for the info
