We inherited my wife's cousin's mantle clock. The springs are wound tight but the pendulum only swings a short while before stopping. Trying to identify it further than Ansonia mantle clock, works patented 1892. Very heavy, iron I presume, so I wanted more information on it before lugging it to a clock shop.

This is an aptly model named the Ansonia "Nice" (or is that the French City?). It's from circa 1894 and is made of black enameled iron. Originally listed for $14 which was a lot of money back then. (over $400 in today's dollars). Looks to be in pretty good shape for a clock of that age. Good luck with it.
