Arts and Crafts silver Necklace and broach was given to me by my mother along with several other items . They belonged to a woman my father cared for until she passed at age 100 in 1986 . Unfortunately the clasp that is missing and it was marked Germany . With minimal knowledge of antique jewelry I do not know the artist however I did find some similar pieces. Could this be a Sibyl Dunlop piece ?I found a pair of earrings that suited it perfectly. I absolutely adore this piece and want to learn more

I just love this geometric pieces of jewelry. What a treasure to have! I have looked through my referens books but has not found the same kind yet. But to me it looks like around 1930's, art deco, even though I am not used to see this much glass and so little metall showing on the front. But the geometric style tells me this is the period and style. What a gem! Hold on to it tight!

Search online and it led me back to CW and our CW friend Peasejean :). I don't know the maker she is talking about so I can't have anything to add to that. Lets see if she has any more information on the subject now.

Iamhappe2 I see the earrings you posted a link to but I can't visit the website it sais error. Was there any information about them?

When I Google Sybil Dunlop I don't see anything as geometric as your necklace and brooch, to me that maker has another style. But maybe someone has some information in their referens books. We will see.

Sibyl Dunlop (attrib.). Earrings. Silver, cornelian and chalcedony.

      That is all it said

It takes me to the sight but no image of my pieces I imagine because they have sold
    12. Elisabethan Elisabethan, 5 years ago
I see. The "attrib" always makes me hesitant to trust the conection. Arts and craft as well as Dunlop leads to Great brittain. The style doesn't say arts and craft to me. It looks very much art deco and you said it was marked Germany, so I feel more confident about that being closer to the answer of its origin. Lets see what the others say. Both pieces are very nice but I find the necklace even more special and geometric. If you think these two pieces were made by the same person then I would concentrate more on the design of the necklace as I find that to "give away" more information about the makers style.

German or French Art Deco Geometric Agate Pendant
    14. Peasejean55 Peasejean55, 5 years ago
Hi iamhappe, I’ve been trying to down load a pendant I have which is very much like your necklace and brooch. It will give you some information.
    15. Peasejean55 Peasejean55, 5 years ago
Ohhh I see Elisabethan has put my pendant up.
    16. Elisabethan Elisabethan, 5 years ago
Yes Peasejean I did. Hope it was ok. If marked Germany then I think we have the answer :)
    17. Elisabethan Elisabethan, 5 years ago
Peasejean do you think the brooch is french?
    18. Peasejean55 Peasejean55, 5 years ago
Hi Elisabethan, off course you can use my post, it’s how we learn. If you have seen the message from Jewels1900 she Says this type of stone ( Ider-Oberstein) was cut in Germany and exported. So I’ve no real idea whether my pendant is French, but my gut feeling says it’s German.
    19. Elisabethan Elisabethan, 5 years ago
Hi Peasejean :) no I have missed Jewels1900. But the link I posted here with the a german necklace also said cut agate but prom Pforzheim.
    20. Elisabethan Elisabethan, 5 years ago
... And the link I posted above also said german geometric necklace from Pforzheim with pre cut agates from Idar-Oberstein :) :) I think we need to get better at reading each others posts and inkluding information LOL :)
