SIGNED SHERMAN PURPLE & ALEXANDRITE NECKLACE WITH SOME AB STONES c 1950's to 60's
This necklace was not advertised as being with Alexandrite stones so I surmised they were not aware of this fact. It has the square name plate on the back so probably after 1950. As with all Alexandrite stones, once you have had pieces with Alexandrite stones, they become much more recognizable once you have had a few. I find these really are beautiful in the sunlight, and especially when the stones appear to be in purple hues, dependent on the light hitting them right !~
A knockout beauty Phil, as purple is my fave color this is among my favorites of your gorgeous Sherman pieces, I LOVE it
Glorious piece as all your collection Phil!
Much love, XOXO!
Thanks Jenni, its a royal colour it is, love the changing hues to the Alexandrite stones !~
Very nice!
Very pretty, Phil!
Thank you kindly kyra, the beautiful !~xoxo
Thanks Mrstyndall for the comment !~
Just beautiful..love the colour I know not amethyst but same colour-ish!..my birthstone, Happy New Year my friend!..
love the swank PURPLE....but what the hell do wear with it ...smiling
This is just gorgeous! I have rekindled my love with purple recently and don't know why I ever stepped away from it for some time. And you are absolutely correct about the Alexandrite stones... I have a gorgeous one that I will be soon putting in a gold setting, just not sure if I want it in a ring or a necklace. It's emerald cut and about 5ct. And gorgeous! I'll post it here soon if I get a good photo of it. But overall, I absolutely love this necklace!!! Thanks for posting these Sherman, you've given us all a gift of being familiar of them. Nothing compares in this costume jewelry category!
Gorgeous necklace. Regal rare Alexandrite!
Thanks Eileen, as you get more familiar with these alexandrite stones you will find more pieces with a combination of this stone Sherman used. Used rarely especially with navette stones. The 2 large navettes on the bottom of this necklace in particular are ab'd with a purplish glow to them, so not positive they were alex stones, to those two stones.
I have this idea that I can't wear purple. But this necklace is a beauty!
Same here, Elisabethan. And the sad thing is, purple is my favorite colour besides green! What a lovely necklace, PhilDMorris!
Thank you glassiegirl, so much love to you !~
