"Limoges" Box - Unsigned but Numbered?

Greetings - Not sure where/when I acquired this little box as it doesn't fit into a category I collect - hence my knowledge is very limited. It is my understanding that Limoges boxes are usually marked but this one has only a hand-painted number. Would be interested in any/all comments regarding likely origin of this piece - i.e. did/do factories exist in Limoges that mark only with numbers? Thanks
