I'm trying to find out what the tools in this photo are called, and what they are used for, all of it was together along with the thread and beaded appliques. It appears it was project, that was never finished. Thanks so much!

Very interesting. The appliques look very much like German cut steel. Here's a cut steel beaded purse labelled 'Made in France', using micro beads. In your picture you have an almost finished spool of metal beads.

You don't say the size of these items.

If you google 'antique sewing tools' you may find your metal tools there.

The two with hooks on the end are shoe button hooks. I have a few fancy ones from my great grandmother. The big safety pin is pretty much multi use.

large safety pins were used for wrap around skirts, to keep them closed, not sure if kilts also needed a pin for the same purpose. Some pins would be made with decorative silver. Thanks for posting.

      buttonhooks, as described earlier

In the 60's "kilty" pins were in fashion to hold down the free edge of a (usually plaid) kilty skirt; they could also be blanket pins for pinning together multiple layers of blankets to keep them form sliding all over the bed
