Another find from my local market. This cup and saucer is a classic Adelaide shape with a lovely handle. This shape is named after William IV wife Adelaide, whom he married after George IV died with no heirs. In the end no new heirs were born and Victoria became Queen. I was reading up on my history the other day, and I didn't know much about King William IV, as he had a short reign between George VI (the Prince Regent), and Queen Victoria. The cup and saucer are hand painted and have a pattern number in green 3171 and an H. I can't find who made it.
