I visited a couple of charity shops this morning, and just could not resist this large shiny fruit bowl. I've called it Majolica, because I couldn't find anything like it until I used that term! The roses are moulded and hand painted and it is very thickly covered in gold on the foot and rim. The bowl is a pretty pale pink, and I love it. It is marked Foreign 2272 in gold. I did some research into the Foreign mark, but it has been extensively used and does't really help identification. I'm not sure of date either, but maybe 1920's - 30's? Anyone got any ideas on date or country etc?
