I stopped by the thrift shop on the way home from errands on Thursday. There is a glass case by the check-out and in it sat this brooch which turned out to be a fur clip. Even though it is not spectacular signed example worthy of the collections of the CW aficionados, I bought it. When I got home, I discovered it is marked sterling. This knowledge made me feel better about plunking down a $1 for it. It measures 2 and 1/4" in diameter. Prompted by MsCrystalShip's musings, I found myself trying to image who the original owner was. Really I can't picture her, other than maybe Violet from It's A Wonderful Life. That does sound a bit harsh. Another old fur clip has found a home. It is in Fine jewelry but probably belongs in costume, no?
Absolutely gorgeous vintage fur clip Maureen in all my favorite blues, what an ingenious design with the sterling wire flowers then a central rhinestone flower - I love it, great find
Very nice fur clip! Generally vintage costume jewelry held a much much higher quality than today. So even if no makersmark it is interesting! The brooch itself looks ftom the photos to be brass. The clip is sterling which is a great and practical idea. I would put this in costume jewelry but it is still very fine so to speak. Great price for a great find!
This is a very splendid fur clip. The colours are really attractive. All I need is a fur (fake) coat!
Gillian I agree. Thanks for the love and comment:)
