I love your American glass animals Jenni, and most I have never seen before.
Slag glass is always a fave!
Very nice- I love the rather marbled glass he's made from it reminds me of some kind of agate stones I have. And his pose again is very dynamic and sleek...I wonder do you know of the little porcelain sets of ducks commonly hung on walls? (Or at least they used to be!) and when visiting an older person's house sets of flying ducks were common decorations on walls- this really reminds me of these and brings back something nostalgic for me! I love it for that reason! :D
Beautiful detail!
Thank you everyone for the kind love

Karen thanks so much for the wonderful compliment, I am really glad when I can still find some good examples of American glass animals (Royal Hickman was a fabulous designer for Heisey in the 40s-50s era), though sure you have noticed I've had to add other countries animals lately for more variety. Yes I agree, the slag glass is nice to find, also like the iridescent carnival type
Many thanks Lauren for your super compliments and I so agree, the base of this has a very marbled or agate look to me and I'm even reminded of ice cream syrup lol :) I also remember the bird trio wall decorations which are an excellent comparison, this duck looks like it is about to take off!
Thank you MrsT for the great compliment, the detail on the Hickman animal designs was always top notch, he sculpted each animal very realistically and often added that curly deco base which I believe was supposed to be clouds
Very pleased you liked this Nicefice and Kinki, thank you so much for the love
Super thanks for the thoughtful love and support Sean it is so kind of you
Thank you Bruce for the kind love, I'm so glad you enjoyed this Imperial mallard
Thank you Rene for the kind compliment, yes Heisey made some beautiful glass animals esp in the 40s-50s which have been reissued by many US glass cos including Imperial. Glad you liked this mallard :)
