I've had this vase for about three years with no definite identification prior to today. It is highly iridescent and has a great ring to it, as you'd expect from fine lead crystal. It also has a series of 'tulips' around the rim. The tulips are depicted by fine lines within the glass and you can feel some of the lines too. Image four shows one of the 'tulips'. Finally not a blemish on it. Walsh Walsh was a British manufacturer and so is appropriate to mark my 700th post.
Thank you Lustrousstone for the ID.
Height 5 inches Diameter at rim 6 inches
Congratulations on 700! I really enjoy your glass collection and your considered posts. Keep them coming!!!
Thank you, Wow22, for the encouragement!
Not just 700 but a wonderfully curated 700. Congratulations!
And this Walsh Walsh is beautiful to mark the number.
Congratulations on your educational work of 700 lessons:)
Thank you, racer, and it's my only piece of British glass, notwithstanding the fact that I grew up within fifty miles of Stourbridge.
Fab piece & congratulations on your 700th post! Love JWW's glass so much, too...
Thank you, Ivonne. I must say that due to what I collect and the lack of books on it, I've learnt most of what I know from some of the people here, their posts and handling the glass itself.
IronLace Thank you too. This is my only piece of JWW but the quality is exquisite. How they achieved those tulips is a mystery to me. And not just one but eight and perfectly placed!
