This is one of my favourite brooches. It a heavy scottish sterling brooch with fantastic engravings and royal blue enameling. The brooch is from around 1880. It is about 4 cm in diameter. It has a tube hinge and c clasp.

Thank you Vetraio! There is one handmade mark that looks like a "F".

Vetraio good question! It made me look around because I had not thought about it. The F might be a Glasgow dateletter for 1876! I am so used to the lack of marks on this period of jewelry so I didn't think about looking it up as I thought it was a rather anonymous makersmark. Still anonymous but it could be the year and place it was made.

Thanks Broochman and Kyratango for you nice coments on my brooch. Yes it is rather special and no "massproduktion", lots of hours of craftmanship has been put on making this brooch. Makes you wonder who has held it, engraved it and who has worn it before me.
