      German for sure.

      I looked at every mark in the international encyclopedia of silver marks and did not find this under German marks going back before 1886 even. I did find the 800 mark with the added marks with it listed as being Danish assay marks but my eyes were to tired to pursue it.

      See if you recognise the mark. And turn the photo and it will be easier :) your marks are upside down.

      Elisabethan you are right. I can see the mark on the link you posted but when I bring the same page up on my computer by typing in the URL the mark isn't there. Seems odd it would show on one and not the other. I've had the site bookmarked for years. Maybe I need to delete it and re bookmark it and see if it is up to date. Shouldn't matter but my firewall rules prevent some things being auto updated.
